Our next Curry Bridge Evening will be on Wednesday March 6th at Newark Golf Club. There will be the usual choice of three curries including one vegetarian. All the curries should be gluten free. You can arrive from 6.30 onwards when the bar will be open. Please be seated by 7pm ready to start playing bridge. We will break at about 8pm for the curry. Andy has agreed to direct on the night which will consist just of straightforward Chicago. Places are limited to 48. You can book your place by seeing me at one of the Club bridge sessions or by sending an email. I shall be away from Jan. 31st to Feb. 16th so will collect payment (remaining at £8 per head) when I return.
If you wish to go to this year’s Bassingham Panto and you haven’t yet signed up, would you please let me know and pay me by next Thursday. The Panto – Treasure Island – will be on Friday January 25th in Bassingham Primary School Hall; tickets are £9 each and I will be collecting them on January 2nd. Barry
Oh yes! The Panto Season will soon be upon us and I shall again be obtaining tickets for those who would like to attend the village Panto presented by Act 2 on Friday January 25th 2019. This Panto is “Treasure Island” and you will note as usual some of our own Club Members in Starring Roles! Tickets are priced at £9 and if you would like any please see me at one of the bridge sessions between now and Dec. 20th – our final bridge session for this year. Cash with order please as I have to buy the tickets on January 2nd.

I’ve finally been given the transmission date for my Mastermind appearance
It will be shown on Friday 9th November, moved forward to 7.00pm to accommodate the FA cup.

One of the Club DVDs – Splinters and Cue-Bids – has been returned minus the actual DVD. If you have borrowed this DVD in the past, would you please check that you don’t still have it at home.
REMINDER – Curry Bridge Evening next Wednesday (17th). Please be seated by 7pm. Consequently there will be no Wednesday Evening Bridge at The Hammond Hall
This course will start on September 26th, 7-10 pm at the Hammond Hall and details can be found on the Club website and on the notice board in the Hammond Hall foyer.
This course is not for complete beginners. It is an extension of the Beginners’ course started last September and would also be suitable for anyone who has played before socially and would like to learn Basic Acol and start playing duplicate bridge.
This will take place at Newark Golf Club on October 17th
