Next year’s Act 2 Panto will be Rapunzel, showing Wednesday to Saturday 28th – 31st January 2026. Tickets will cost £11. I won’t be ordering tickets as they can now be ordered online. If you wish to go you can can order tickets from the 1st November at www.act-two.org

The next Tuesday afternoon bridge session (October 7th) is unfortunately cancelled since everyone with access to the equipment will be away. Sessions will recommence as normal on October 14th. If you know of any regular player who may not have seen this email would you please let them know.

Calling all men of sartorial discernment!
A few of us were debating in the pub recently that we ought to have a Loud Shirt Day on the 26th of this month – as loud shirts go so well with strawberries! If you would like to be part of this select band of fashionistas, seek out the loudest shirt you have and parade it proudly on the 26th. It is possible – though by no means likely – that the loudest shirts will find their way onto the official club website.
To avoid the possibility of having my collar felt by the Equality Police, ladies may like to display their loudest skirts – to make it a truly Loud Shkirt Day!

Booking tickets for the Panto has now gone online and I found out last night that they will be available from the 1st of November – which is two months earlier than usual. I therefore need to know who would like to go to the Panto by next Thursday, as I need to apply on the 1st to be sure of getting the number of tickets I expect we will need. The panto details are as follows:
The Panto will be Peter Pan, held in Bassingham Primary School Hall, at a cost of £11 per head and I shall be booking for Friday 31st of January. I will need to collect payment either next Monday or next Thursday as I will have to pay at the time of booking. If paying by cash I would appreciate the right money – or you can pay by cheque – payable to me – B R Leverett.

We need three more players to make up full tables for the charity Bridge Day next Friday. Robin needs a new partner after his original partner has had to withdraw and another pair would prevent some people having to sit out. If you are able to fill any of these vacancies – or know of anyone who would – please let me know asap.

Bassingham Bridge Club is holding a Charity Bridge Day in aid of St Barnabas Hospice on Friday September 1st, arriving at 10am with bridge starting at 1030am. The cost is £22.50 per person.
Coffee/tea and homemade biscuits will be available on arrival. A two course lunch with a glass of wine will be served at 1230 and tea and biscuits will be served at the end of play. There will also be a raffle with good prizes.
