Brianbridge Electronic Scoring

Many thanks to those members who supported our first try-out on Tuesday afternoon. What did we learn? Well, despite some inevitable teething problems, it works!   Rather than filling in a paper traveller, North simply uses a touchscreen app to record the contract and result.  We ran a fun, three table Howell playing 15 boards and had the results instantaneously at the end.
What next? I suggest more practice sessions, hopefully with more participants and, to this end, I intend to run another brianbridge duplicate session in the Hammond Hall on the afternoon of Tuesday 26 November (in parallel with the usual Chicago).  Please come along if you can.  Don’t worry if you don’t have a smartphone or tablet, we only need one per table and I have a couple of extra ones. Incidentally, if like me, you have recently upgraded your phone and now have an old, redundant, smartphone (with charger, screen intact, sim card removed and personal data deleted), I would love to hear from you.
Basically, the only equipment needed, per table, is a smartphone or tablet (android or apple) with the brianbridge app installed (it’s free) and the Hammond Hall wifi code entered (we will provide this).
Just come along for a 2.00 pm start on Tuesday 26th November. There will be a £2 per player charge to cover the cost of the room hire.   Andy
